Let us tell that this day is celebrated to commemorate and honor the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism. He was born in 1469 in Nankana Sahib, Punjab. The main day of Guruparva begins with morning hymns, followed by prayers and stories performed in praise of the Guru. Later, after the langar there is a night of Ardas which is held in the gurdwaras.
